I am a student at NC State University in the Food and Bioprocessing Science Department. For our senior design project we are working on developing a food product that would be designed for cancer patients that are experiencing taste changes due to chemotherapy. We are interested in
learning if common foods are appealing to breast cancer patients who have had chemotherapy in the last 6 months. We are hoping to take this information and lay the ground work for a line of foods specifically
catered to chemotherapy patients.

Those who wish to participate will complete a completely anonymous survey asking about your treatment, diagnosis, and what foods you like to eat! It will only take about 10 minutues of your time. When you are frusterated trying to find a food that tastes good, this may give you some options to try! Please click
on the link below to access the survey.

Thank you so much for your time, the answers you give could lead to a new product that would help future chemotherapy patients struggling with their diet!

Fav thing to do is watch my boys play sports, which includes my husband who will still not give up his basketball or football league even though I have told him that I WILL NOT push him in a wheel chair when he is old because he has sprained/broken so many body parts!! (Although after all of this BC crap, I might have to take that back) I love hanging out with our family who all pretty much live within a 2 mile radius of us!! Reading, lunching/daily phone convos w/ my BFF of the past 25 years (Love Ya, girl), lazing by my MIL's pool in the summer, planting and watching flowers grow (until about August, then I usualy am OVER it) That's about it, pretty simple, just the way I like it!!!

I'll do it. I just finished chemo yesterday, but I have to say, these foods, in addition to tasting good, should be priced for people who get multiple medical bills EVERYDAY. We can't afford expensive food, and while I applaud what you are trying to do, I would HATE to see "price gouging" on food for people who have taken a hit financially for a condition that so crappy in so many ways!!!

I did the survey, but honestly have my last chemo tomorrow and just ate all the foods I liked before (OK, I'm a meat and potatoes person, not good). Does anyone out there who's had chemo notice a lot of face and tummy bloating? Also, is it possible that I'll lose this gross flab during upcoming radiation? I've been giving away all my old "skinny" clothes, but am not sure if I need to lose the medium sizes as well (I have new "fatty clothes" which I can alter down).

Yes chemo can cause the tummy bloating, I know for sure. I have even heard of people losing weight, but their tummy got bigger. The face thing might be from steriods, but I am not sure. I wouldn't give away your clothes, because we should really be eating low fat and working out to minimize the chance of recurrence, so I would think that we could even look better than before!!!

Having a good food product would be awesome. I ate a lot of instant mashed potatoes with cheese melted in them. I lost a little weight with chemo but not much. Lost lots of inches through out the radiation for some reason, which was post bilateral mastectomies. Had to get new clothes after that. Tummy was smaller and with no boobs had to find a new way to dress my body. I have come to LOVE shopping for clothes! I have definately become a High Maintence Woman!!!
